Whirlpools (Unreleased)

This is a song about experiencing times of pain and learning from them, written as a reminder to those going through dark periods that there is hope. Most of the time, at least. :-)

Final version of lyrics: Friday, October 27th, 2000

Whirlpools (Unreleased)

Feelings come and feelings go
The are the worst friends that you'll ever know
Sometimes they make you see the world through broken eyes
But that doesn't mean that everything is lies

Feelings come and feelings go
Sometimes they give you wings or sink you like a stone
Sometimes you're lost in their whirlpools, watching yourself burn
But that doesn't mean there's nothing left to learn

Feelings come and feelings go
And the worst feelings sometimes lead you somewhere new
We put our garbage outside asking morning for our mail
And it never means its over when we fail

Feelings come and feelings go
Like babies we cry out to bring something that loves us close
Although I feel pain when you don't take my hand to help you up
That doesn't mean that I should stop

London, 27 October 2000.
