Between 1998 and 2002, I diligently provided contact information for enquiries I have received for another "Nigel Parry" (no relation) who is a celebrity photographer.
In November 2000, this other Nigel Parry published a book of his collected portraits of celebrities titled Sharp, which I finally had a chance to look at in September 2002.
Sharp is described by the publisher as "a collection the likes of which have never been seen before", a book with such "brilliant lenswork" that it allows one "repeated viewings that never tire or bore."
If you're a photo editor that wants to run images of celebrities that depict every pore, with contrast on the image so intense that the subjects look like coal miners on the way home after a day in the pits, then this is your man and he's in the phone book under Creative Photographers, Inc.
But if you want fresh and creative celebrity portraits with a sense of style and humour, or beautiful high end fashion photographs from a New York-based professional, there's another option.
The person I suggest you check out is Henry Leutwyler, clearly one of New York's best kept secrets. Even a brief browse through Leutwyler's portfolio (a few samples from which appear on this page) will bring things into focus.
